Introduction

This is the privacy notice of Camtree, the Cambridge Teacher Research Exchange (collectively referred to as ‘Camtree’, ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’ in this privacy policy).

This privacy policy aims to give you information on how Camtree collects and processes your personal data through your use of this website, including any data you may provide through this website when you sign up to our newsletter, become a member, or engage with a Camtree service.

Unless otherwise stated, the legal basis for processing your personal data is that it is necessary to deliver a contractual service to you (via our membership agreement) or is via your consent to your personal data being processed.

Data Protection Officer

The controller for your personal information is Camtree at Hughes Hall, Wollaston Road, Cambridge, CB1 2EW. The Data Protection Officer is the Office of Intercollegiate Services Ltd (OIS Ltd, 12B King’s Parade, Cambridge; 01223 768745; college.dpo@ois.cam.ac.uk) and should be contacted if you have any concerns about how we are managing your personal information, or if you require advice on how to exercise your rights as outlined in this statement. The person within the College responsible for data protection at the time of issue, and the person who is responsible for monitoring compliance with relevant legislation in relation to the protection of personal information, is the Bursar via compliance@hughes.cam.ac.uk.

Collection of personal data

We use Memberpress to manage subscriptions, but member information is kept by us. We will only collect personal information from you by specifically asking for it when you register with us for newsletters, email updates, take part in surveys and customer feedback, or when you register as a member through your school or organisation. We may collect all or some of the following information relating to you:

  • Identity Data – including first name, last name, email address, job title, name of organisation or school
  • Contact Data – includes billing address, email address and telephone numbers.
  • Financial Data – includes bank account and payment card details, VAT user type and VAT number.
  • Usage Data – includes information about how you use our website, products and services.

Your personal data is not shared with any third-parties without your consent.

The Camtree website may include links to third-party websites. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. We will use your information to enrol and involve you in our services as requested by you. For example, using your contact information to respond to your customer service requests, or to enable registration for one of our services.

Tracking information for our site

The site automatically stores non-personal information about the sites’ usage, popularity, and positive or negative impact. We perform statistical analyses of users of the site, and their viewing and participation patterns, for the purpose of developing the website further.

We may collect non-personal information about the computer, mobile device or other device you use to access Camtree, such as IP address, geolocation information, browser type, browser language and other preferences automatically collected.
